Walter CronkiteWalter Cronkite — Walter Cronkite, voted “the most trusted man in America,” is the recipient of a special Lifetime Achievement Award recognizing his outstanding contribution to the television news industry. Known for his integrity and fairness, Mr. Cronkite covered World War II for the United Press before joining CBS News. Spending more than three decades with that corporation, he reported on huge events from around the globe.

Co-founding the Cronkite Ward Company in 1993, Mr. Cronkite’s group produced more than 25 award winning documentary hours for The Discovery Channel, PBS and other networks. His skill as an author put his books on bestseller lists. He has received numerous honors and awards.

A family man and sailing enthusiast, Mr. Cronkite is a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and has been named an honorary commodore.


Senator John GlennSenator John Glenn — John Glenn and his wife Annie are involved with the John Glenn Institute for Public Service, which they founded at Ohio State University. Their goal is to improve the quality of public service and to encourage young people to pursue careers in government.

Hailing from Ohio, John Glenn served in the Senate representing Ohio from 1974 - 1999. He joined the United States space program in 1959. Having been selected as one of the original seven Mercury astronauts, Glenn, in February 1962 became the first American to orbit the earth. On October 29, 1998, he became the oldest human ever to venture into space.

A creator of T.V. documentaries and former president of Royal Crown Cola International, Glenn has received numerous awards and honors for his service to his country.


Dr. Jane GoodallDr. Jane Goodall — Jane Goodall, a native of England, is the world’s foremost authority on chimpanzees. She is the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute for Wildlife, Research, Education and Conservation, which is located in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Dr. Goodall is the recipient of numerous awards and has authored many publications.

In 1965 Dr. Goodall earned her doctorate in Ethnology from Cambridge University. Her work in Tanzania, where she studies chimpanzees and her establishment of the Gombe Stream Research Center changed and enriched the field of primatology.

Dr. Goodall currently serves as a National Geographic Society Explorer in Residence. Her creation of the Roots and Shoots program for school children encourages the young to learn about wild animals and conservation of the environment. Jane Goodall continues to write and lecture worldwide, sharing her message of hope for the future and encouraging young people to make a difference in the world.
